The Tracy Wrestling Club opened the doors to a new facility at the Northgate Village Shopping Center this past September.
Shortly after, the membership swelled with over 100 youth wrestlers joining the club for the 2018/2019 Folkstyle season; making TWC one of the largest wrestling clubs in the region. About 70 percent of the total enrollment were returning members. Training sessions were split between beginner and advanced wrestlers to accommodate the club size and ensure wrestlers were getting proper instruction for their skill level.
The Tracy Wrestling Club hosted a home tournament in January and competed in twenty-eight additional wrestling tournaments during this 2018/2019 Folkstyle season. Although most of our wrestlers competed locally in the San Joaquin County and San Francisco Bay Area, others travelled all over Northern California, to Southern California, and even to the state of Washington to compete. All of our wrestlers represented the club well with the majority of our TWC wrestlers placing in the top three at each tournament.
For some, the Folkstyle season isn’t quite over yet. About twenty-five TWC wrestlers are preparing to compete in the California State Championships in Fresno, California; March 8th through the 10th. The CA State Championships will draw the best wrestlers from all over the state of California. Our wrestlers are ready for the challenge and we know they will represent the Tracy Wrestling Club well!
