Four Tracy Wrestling Club athletes packed their bags and traveled to San Diego, California to compete on the USS Midway. The tournament started August 1st and ran through August 3rd. Wrestlers had an opportunity to compete in team duals, individual Freestyle, and individual Folkstyle matches.
TWC wrestler Vanden Caudillo went undefeated after three matches on the opening day. Wrestlers Janida Garcia, Victor Ramirez Jr., and Lily Dizon all placed in the top four for each of their divisions. Garcia sustained a sprained MCL during an early match but managed to hop her way to a 3rd place finish. Ramirez won 5 matches and earned a 2nd place finish while Dizon took 4th in her division.
Wrestlers returned to the Midway on day two for Folkstyle matches. Ramirez earned a second place finish after facing off against Beric Jordan of East Valley Wrestling Club in the Championship match. Garcia and Dizon both took 3rd in their divisions.
