TWC ties for 3rd place in CAUSAW

Twenty-eight Tracy Wrestling Club wrestlers headed to Fresno, California to compete in the California USA Wrestling State Championships on March 9th and 10th at the Selland Arena. A total of 1,158 youth wrestlers from all corners of the state came to compete. Wrestler’s ages ranged from U6 through U14, boys and girls.

Overall, TWC wrestlers did exceptionally well and earned enough team points to tie for third out 192 registered wrestling clubs. The California Grapplers Wrestling Club from Covina, California ranked first followed by the RedWave Wrestling Club from Clovis, California. The Tracy Wrestling Club and All-American Elite Wrestling from Santa Maria, California tied for third.

Diego Goins (Bantam, 56) placed 2nd after three straight wins and a loss in the Championship round to Ethan Ramirez from Elite Force Wrestling Club. Kolby Dennington (Bantam, 62) battled his way back into the competition with four consecutive wins after a loss in overtime his first match. Dennington finished in 6th place. Brock Bogetti (Intermediate, 49) placed 2nd after three straight wins and a loss in the Championship round to Michael Bernabe from Dethrone Wrestling. Adrian Ramirez (Intermediate, 49) placed 6th in state after two consecutive wins followed by three losses. Hunter Dumlao (Intermediate, 63) placed 7th after a loss in the quarterfinals followed by a tech fall over Javian Palomino from SmashGyms, a loss in overtime to Jacob Celis from Team Coalinga, and a win over Jacob Rodriguez from Golden Boyz. James Miller (Intermediate, 84) placed 3rd after three consecutive wins followed by a loss in the semifinals and two more wins. Logan Abbott (Intermediate, 105) placed 4th after a loss in the quarterfinals placed him in a consolation bracket. Lily Dizon (Novice Girl, 60) placed 3rd after a loss in her first match placed her in a consolation bracket. Dizon came back with five consecutive wins and earned a 3rd place finish by pin against Angelica Serratos of Grapplers Studio. Jasmine Lund (Novice Girl, 75) placed 6th. Adeline Reece (Novice Girl, 95) placed 6th. Honor Durkee (Novice Girl, 110) placed 3rd after a win in her first match followed by a loss and two more wins. Durkee secured her third place finish after pinning Aubreyelle Baeza from California Grapplers. Cole Borges (Schoolboy, 110) placed 7th after going 3-2. Darrian Marieiro (Schoolboy, 119) placed 7th after going 3-2. Vanden Caudillo (Schoolboy, 125) placed 5th after a loss in his first match to Oscar Williams from Poway Elite. Caudillo returned with two consecutive wins followed by a loss to Ray Gulmatico from Butcher Shop Boyz. Caudillo finished his final match with a win over Eli Watson from Turlock Wrestling Club. Luke Chan (Schoolboy, 130) placed 6th after going 2-3. Jocelyn StaElena (Schoolgirl, 127) placed 4th.

  2. Great job TWC! I know for some this was your first time competing at state and you exceeded expectations! A tie for third is a testament to all your hard work.
